This is the entry to a student competition by students C. Athanasiou, K. Apostolopoulou & P. Spyridonidou (Patras School of Architecture), where K. Grivas was invited to engage only as a consultant professor. According the description of the proposal:
"The proposal aims to make the park an attractive destination for both residents and visitors alike. The study area is defined as the eastern end of the city, as it is formed from the North with the Military Officers' Club, from the South by the river Arapitsa, from the West by Alexander the Great street and from the East by the Naoussis farm.
Studying the wider area of Imathia, we discovered a lively tourist network in the area around the city (Agios Nikolaos Grove, Three-Five Pigadia Ski Resort, Aristotle School and Wild Life Haven). There are thus the conditions for strategically strengthening Naoussa's position in this network. Naoussa's Municipal Park could play an important role in that.
The park is distinguished both for its natural elements and for its historical identity. The intense topography renders it effectively as a balcony for the city and a reference landmark for the countryside and the motorway below. On the other hand, its dense historical character makes it a place of memory for the citizens. Combining these elements contributes to the challenge of this design and to the basis of its sustainable development."
