KERANIS OLYMPIC LANDMARK

The old disused factory of Keranis tobacco industry in Piraeus has been standing silent and derelict for decades. Its facades are a unique specimen of extremely large concrete claustra, producing a distinct image in the cityscape. Clients approached us, in order to provide them consultation on how to develop the building. We proposed that besides any programme that could be housed within, its three (3) facades, facing highways, had a tremendous potential to become the largest interactive display landmark building in the Balkans. We achieved that in concept by integrating arrays of LED lights inside the claustra, in such a way that the building can function properly behind the display surfaces.
